LBC is a small precision engineering design and manufacturing business. There are 3 highly skilled engineers who design high performance components to the aerospace industry – typically during the prototype phase. Some of the designs are sent directly to client for production, and some are specialist pieces which are fabricated in their own workshop.
The design systems (CAD) use very large quantities of data, and there is a need to respond very quickly to design and re-design requests as changes are often made during the testing phase which is costly and time limited.
They currently need around 10TB of high performance storage, and are considering having multiple servers to increase availability – although as a small business they are very cost conscious.
