The online business is driving sales growth. The goal is to support this growth with increased efficiencies rather that recruiting more people.
The IT manager’s concerns
- Employees often use their PCs, laptops and handhelds to store and share documents.
- The overall volume of data has grown rapidly, with users unwilling to delete any files.
- There is 3TB of data which is expected to reach 4.5TB in the next three years.
- The existing tower servers are very old and can be “retired” but it might be hard to find space for a rack.
